VICKIE COX EDMONDSON, PH.D. BIO

Vickie Cox Edmondson, Ph.D. is the author of The Thinking Strategist: Unleashing the Power of Strategic Management to Identify, Explore and Solve Problems. She has been cited in various media outlets including Black Enterprise, HR Briefing, The Black Capital Network, and eHow. Dr. Cox Edmondson is a sought-after academic and management strategist whose influence spans across industries, professions, and business types. Her work centers on the business ownership and career advancement of members of traditionally excluded groups. In particular, she strives to close capability gaps through upskilling technical skills and business vocabulary, and driving behavioral changes at the individual and organizational level.

With a Ph.D. in strategy from the University of Georgia, an M.B.A. from Mercer University, and 35+ years of combined industry and classroom experience, has worked in strategic roles at two industry leaders (Procter & Gamble and United Airlines), taught the business capstone course for four highly-ranked colleges, and maintained relationships/networks at each allowing her to identify strong potential candidates with ease. She has also taught Human Resource Management, Business Communications, Corporate Survival Skills, and Black Entrepreneurship, all courses that play a vital role in workplace success. She has strong capabilities in curriculum design, learning outcomes, and program incentives. Additionally, she served as the inaugural Associate Provost for Student Success at Morehouse College.

Having served as the Executive Director for a non-profit recognized by the Georgia State Senate, taught Executive Directors of community-based organizations for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and been active in an international organization committed to leadership development, Vickie also has a passion for non-profit work. ​
